Bachelor of Arts in Theology

 

Program Objective

The objective of the Bachelor of Arts in Theology Degree (BATh) is to empower individuals, both men and women, to develop a Christ-like mindset and positively contribute to the world in service of the Lord Jesus Christ. This is achieved by offering a solid foundation in understanding the Old and New Testaments, Christian doctrines and history, practical aspects of Christian ministry, as well as methods for pursuing further studies in biblical and theological fields.

Graduates of the BATh program have diverse career opportunities within various Christian service roles, including but not limited to:

1. Pastor (typically following the completion of a Master of Divinity degree)

2. Evangelist

3. Missionary

4. Youth Minister

5. Children's Program Minister

6. Counselor

7. Church Administrator

8. Bible Teacher for Christian Schools

The program aims to prepare individuals for meaningful and impactful roles in Christian ministry and leadership.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the Bachelor of Arts in Theology program, graduates will be able to:

​

1. Clearly explain the content, structure, themes, and theological concepts in the Old and New Testaments.

2. Understand the historical, literary, and theological aspects of the Old and New Testaments, allowing them to interpret biblical passages correctly within their historical and literary contexts, and apply sound principles of interpretation to the Bible.

3. Identify and analyze significant historical and doctrinal movements in the Christian church, evaluating their impact on contemporary church and doctrine development.

4. Proficiently understand the themes and principles of biblical redemptive history, based on Reformed hermeneutical skills.

5. Read and comprehend the Bible in its original Greek or Hebrew languages, using dictionaries for assistance when needed.

6. Grasp key doctrinal issues, their rationale, and associated biblical texts, enabling them to formulate personal positions on theological matters related to doctrines, spiritual practices, ministry, and life in general.

7. Incorporate biblical and theological truths into their own life circumstances, especially within their chosen vocation.

8. Possess sufficient knowledge and proficiency in various Christian ministries.

Master of Arts in Religion

 

Program Objective

The Master of Arts in Religion program is tailored for individuals seeking to fortify their Christian foundation in both personal and professional spheres, whether pursuing secular careers or roles within a church community. Its primary objective is to assist students in seamlessly integrating and applying a biblical worldview to their chosen vocation, whether it be in the arts and sciences or a specific area of ministry.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the Master of Arts in Religion (MAR) degree, graduates will have demonstrated the following:

1. Personal and Spiritual Growth: Developing a Christian identity, deepening personal faith, thinking theologically, living a Christian lifestyle, feeling called to ministry, and upholding moral integrity.

2. Biblical Understanding: Proficiency in reading and interpreting the Old and New Testaments in their historical and cultural contexts, using Reformed biblical principles to relate biblical truths to personal and public life.

3. Doctrinal Knowledge: Articulating Christian doctrines and traditions while addressing contemporary issues from a biblical and Reformed perspective.

4. Cultural Competence: Understanding and engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and worldviews, effectively sharing the Christian message.

Master of Divinity

 

Program Objective​

The Master of Divinity program educates students in the teachings of the Word of God, preparing them for faithful ministry in the Church of Christ. It equips them with Reformed theology, the ability to interpret the Bible accurately, fosters spiritual growth, and enables effective application of God's Word in ministry. The program emphasizes adaptation to the congregation's culture and encompasses three years of full-time study, providing a strong foundation for entry-level pastoral roles and careers in Christian ministry, such as pastor, missionary, chaplain, counselor, evangelist, Bible instructor, or similar roles.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the MDiv program, graduates will have:

1. Grown spiritually and formed a strong Christian foundation for pastoral ministry, including a clear Christian identity, deepened faith, a Christian lifestyle, a calling to ministry, and moral integrity.

2. Developed the ability to understand and interpret the Bible (both Old and New Testaments) within their historical and cultural contexts, using Reformed biblical principles. They can apply biblical truths to personal and public life and effectively preach or teach the Bible with a focus on Christ and its historical context.

3. Gained expertise in articulating Christian doctrines and traditions, addressing contemporary societal, cultural, and theological issues from a biblical and Reformed perspective.

4. Acquired intercultural skills to engage with people from different religious backgrounds and effectively communicate the Christian gospel.

5. Mastered ministerial skills for pastoral and leadership roles, emphasizing Christ's lordship in all aspects of life.

Master of Theology 

 

Program Objective​

The ThM program equips students with the essential skills and knowledge required to excel in theological research, specialization, scholarly contributions, and the practical application of theology in pastoral ministry, teaching, or further academic pursuits.

 

Learning Outcomes​

Upon the completion of ThM, graduates will:

1. Demonstrate mastery of core methods and tools of theological research;

2. Gain expertise in a chosen field of theological study;

3. Produce scholarly work that contributes to the advancement of a major theological discipline for the mission field;

4. Deepen graduate’s theological understanding to better serve in pastoral ministry, teaching, or further academic scholarship.

 

ThM Degree Requirements​

1. 8 Courses (24 Units)
